AucklandThe Parnell Hotel & Conference Centre, a celebrated independent property in Auckland’s oldest suburb, has migrated from Clarity Hospitality to Mews, the leading operating system for hospitality. This move has brought significant operational time savings and revenue gains for the hotel, while amplifying its charitable mission.

With 101 rooms and apartments plus extensive conference and meeting spaces, The Parnell had been a loyal Clarity user for years. But the team wanted a unified, all-in-one platform to replace the many add-ons they’d relied on previously.

Although Clarity was a great property management system, it had a lot of bolt-ons. With Mews, everything just works together seamlessly. We now have a single platform that’s intuitive, powerful and keeps both our guests and our team happy. Wayne Darbyshire, General Manager of The Parnell Hotel & Conference Centre

The switch to Mews PMS and POS was swift, with nearly 50 staff members quickly embracing real-time information, automated workflows and guest-friendly features such as online pre-arrival check-in. The hotel has already integrated Atomize, Mews’ AI-powered revenue management system, with further plans to add Mews EMS (event management system), key card integrations and self-service kiosks.

Atomize has been fantastic. It’s helping us optimize pricing, increase profitability and free up our team from manual revenue tasks, added Mr Darbyshire.

Owned by the Norman Barry Foundation, The Parnell is unique in that all surplus funds from hotel operations are donated to charity, supporting community, health and research causes throughout New Zealand. Since 2008, the hotel and foundation have given more than $2.7 million NZD to organizations such as KiwiNet, the Liggins Institute, AL Rae Centre, Koi Tū, and Blind and Low Vision NZ.

We’ve seen incredible growth across Australia and New Zealand since bringing Clarity into the Mews family. This is fueled by hoteliers who see the power of automation to give their teams more time for what really matters: creating memorable guest experiences. The Parnell’s move from Clarity to Mews is a great example of this in action. They’ve taken an already fantastic property and elevated it further – utilizing technology to deliver standout hospitality while making a meaningful impact on their community. It's a reminder that with the right technology, hospitality isn’t just good business, it’s a true force for good. Matt Welle, Mews CEO
