HFTP Announces 2025 CHTP of the Year Award Recipient: Alexander Reed

HFTP is thrilled to announce that Alexander Reed, CHTP has earned the 2025 Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP®) of the Year Award for attaining the highest score of the year. Alexander will be recognized for his achievements during HITEC® 2025, taking place June 16-19 at the Indiana Convention Center.

Alexander Reed Background
Alexander Reed is currently the Director of IT for Xanterra Travel Collection's Yellowstone National Park operation. He holds a bachelor's degree in Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and has over a decade of IT experience in varied industries. Alex first started in hospitality as a dishwasher at the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone during the summer of 2012. After finishing college, he worked in several software development roles at Pearson VUE in Minnesota before returning to Yellowstone in 2018.

Alex took the CHTP certification course and exam to better round out his knowledge in both the hospitality and IT spheres. "I'm incredibly humbled to be recognized by HFTP as the 2025 CHTP of the Year. I am grateful for all of my colleagues and mentors both past and present that have taught me so much, and I especially want to thank my current team at Xanterra for being so great to work with as we've overcome numerous challenges together the last few years.”

About the CHTP Designation
The CHTP designation is the ultimate achievement in hospitality information technology by showing a dedication to the hospitality and technology industries. The exam was first given at HITEC in Dallas, Texas USA. HFTP also administers the examination and awards the Certified Hospitality Accounting Executive (CHAE®) industry designation.
