California Lodging Investment Conference [CLIC] Hosts Seventh Annual Event

As we continue to build attendance, I was pleased to see so many new faces joining our stalwart returning friends who wanted to learn about the latest and greatest happenings with hotels in the Golden State. From a market by-market overview of major California cities by Bruce Ford of Lodging Econometrics to probing discussions about labor solutions, there was something for virtually anyone with hotel interests in the California hotel market. Starting with an opening night mixer highlighted by the presentation of the California Hotel Development Deals of the Year to the joint AC/Moxy DTLA and The Pendry Newport Beach, the conference provided multiple networking opportunities and educational sessions. This year’s panels included, “Hotel Labor, Economy & Inflation,” “Hotel PIPs, Construction & Tech” and “Hotel Revenue Enhancement & Strategies.” Jason Riederer of AHLA also gave a California policy update. The event concluded with Jim Butler, founding partner of Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP, and founder and chairman of the Firm's Global Hospitality Group®, receiving CLIC’s prestigious lifetime achievement award.
